"Keeper of the Original Mustang Flame"
Dear
MUSTANGS,
Well, here it is,
MY HOME PAGE of the
"Class of 1970." Stop in here, anytime, to find out the latest news on
members of our class and other classes, reunion updates, and more! Be
sure to e-mail me with news about yourself and your family that I can
include! You can write me at my home address given above, or send
e-mail to me.
John Jay High
School opened in
September 1967 and we were the school's very first sophomore class. So,
that means we've known one another for over 30 years, now. I spent my
freshman year over in Brindisi, Italy, but a lot of you went to 9th
grade at Sul Ross, Holmes, or Marshall, and even went to junior high
and elementary school together, so, you've been friends for 35, 40
years, or more. Whatever the case may be, we have formed lifelong
friendships that have withstood the test of time. It is in that spirit
of friendship that I work very hard to stay in touch with our
classmates. Each of you are very special people and no matter where you
are in your life, always know that the "1970 MUSTANGS" are with you all
the way!
People are always
asking me why I
bother spending so much time and effort in the past 15 years,
organizing our reunions and keeping this web site on-line. Well, my
days at John Jay High School were some of the happiest that I have ever
had in my life. Some of the words to the BEATLES song, "In My Life"
perhaps, explain it best for me, as to how I feel about all of you....
"There are places
I remember, all my
life, though some have changed. Some forever, not for better. Some have
gone and some remain. All these places had their moments with lovers
and friends, I still can recall. Some are dead and some are living, in
my life I've loved them all. But of all these friends and lovers, there
is no one compared with you.... I know I often stop and think about
them. In my life I've loved you more."
If I can ever be
of help to any of
you, in any way, never hesitate to call me.
By the way, there
is a lot to this web
page. Please be sure to scroll all the way down to see everything.
Check it out... check it ALL out!
And hey! Let's be
careful out there!
Love Is All
Around,
Dennis

CLASSMATE NEWS: CURRENT
This is where I
post the
latest news on our fellow classmates mainly from the years 1969-1970-1971 and some others, but frankly, I publish just about anything I receive.
These news items are dated at the end of each of them. The newest
stories appear first. Classmate news is maintained in six-month blocks
and then moved to the ARCHIVES page link. So, click
the link and read on!

"ORIGINAL MUSTANGS" BLOG NOW IN
OPERATION
Well,
we're taking the plunge and adding a BLOG
feature to this website. Thanks to the generosity of RICHARD
OLSEN ('70) and the technical know-how of his son, Reed Olsen.
My sincere thanks for all their hard work in getting this off the
ground. Frankly, I am overwhelmed by the entire process so please be
patient with me as we get the BLOG going. The link to the BLOG is: http://johnjayblog.com/ or just
click on the blue BLOG
at the beginning of this.
Here
is a briefing of how this works.
1. Go to the site and CREATE A NEW
ACCOUNT.
2. For user name, you MUST use your real
first and last name (maiden name for women), as you were known in
school.
3. When you fill out the information and
submit it, an e-mail is sent to me (Dennis DuPriest) to authorize you
or not.
4. When I have authorized you, an e-mail
will be sent to you confirming this.
5. Please give me 24-48 hours to
authorize your account. (I do have a life and can't get to the computer
every night.)
6. Once you are authorized, please fill
out your personal information
to share with people, expecially your JJHS graduation year.
7. START BLOGGING!
Feel free to use this BLOG as often as
you want BUT with these
guidelines... treat this as if you were a GUEST in someone's home and
behave yourself concerning TOPICS, LANGUAGE, CONTENT, etc. Keep it
friendly. You have the option of uploading a PHOTO of yourself. It
would be great to see everyone's picture. Please be sure to load one to
your account. Abuse of this site will not be tolerated and anyone
posting comments of a questionable nature will be deleted and banned
from participation. HAVE FUN!
