INTRODUCTION: For the past 11 months, I have led the life of a "NOWHERE MAN."  It's hard to explain things. I was so mentally exhausted by the JULY 2010  reunion (my 7th reunion) that I just had to get away from things. WAY away. I had lost total interest in this website and abandoned it. In fact, I actually forgot how to update webpages!! I have been working so hard to remember how. So, if you find lots of mistakes, please forgive me.

I never fully realized what my website meant and means to so many people. Over the past 11 months of my selfimposed :"silence," I  have gotten e-mails, cards, letters, phone calls and even visits to my home offering help to get me out of my "funk." I passed all offers aside. I just didn't want to be involved with anything. The Blue Meanies had taken over my mind and demeanor,

Now, all of a sudden I find myself behind this keybpard updating the website and having a sincere pleasure in doing it. BUT NOW, I womder if it's too late. Have I lost my audience? Have I lost the majority of you. Was I AWOL too long? Time will tell.

Love is all around and Is All You Need,

CURRENT CLASSMATE NEWS

JULY 8... It was a quiet 4th of July in San Antonio, this year. Because of the severe two-year drought ALL fireworks were banned. I didn't hear a single snap, crackle, or pop in my neiughnorhood.  So, I watched the Boston and Washinton DC shows on TV.  ///   My thanks to the over 100 people that wished me Happy Birthday on Thursday, July 7th. It was also the birthday of the Dali Llama and Ringo Starr. Hey, that's some pretty cool company to share the day with!  ///  My thanks to Carl Jensen ('70), who sent in the first website donation, this year. It comes at an important time, as i have to renew the contract for sevice. If, anyone else can spare a few bucks to keep the website going, please do so. ///  I just watched Derek Jeter get his 3,000th MLB hit in a baseball game against Tampa Bay. Wow! What a celebration in New York. The fan who causght the hone run hit is from my hometown of Highland Falls, New York!  ///  Well, it's nap time for this old man. I will write more later...

JUNE 28...
I receivied a slew of fishing photos from Mark Loiselle ('70), today. I picked out one to show y'a'll. Mark says, "Howdy Dennis, Hope all is well with you, my friend!! Just thought I’d send a few pictures from the Fox River in WisCANsin. It’s a couple of miles from our house, so I visit it on regular basis. Take care, amigo! Born to fish, forced to work, Marcus."  Oh, you lucky man!  The fishing looks great, Mark

This was the biggest fish (or at least the 'longest' fish) that Mark sent a photo of. He also sent a few of some of the ugliest fish I have ever seen.

I'd love to go fishing if someone would bait the hook for me and take the fish off the hook, if I catch something.  Those wiggling things give me the "willies.!"  I can't touch them!  And forget about me trying to gut and filet a fish.  That's barf city for me!  And I don't each the fish I catch, either.  That's so gross! Other than that, I love fishing.

The truth be told, all the fish in my life come from Long John Silver's- pre-battered and fried to a golden crust. Hhhmmm good!  ---Dennis

JUNE 27...
And in answer to the question I asked on June 22, Mark Loiselle ('70), Lori McDermott ('70), Fred butler ('70), and George Hunter ('70) check it every day for an update. Mark is in Wisconsin; Lori is at Canyon Lake, Texas; Fred lives in Austinm and George is... well, I'd have to kill you if I told you. (He's somewhere in the Middle East.)  Who else reads this almost evey day? Well, Vance Verbeck ('69) does, who writes: "Looked on the web page and saw you were wishing a Happy Fathers Day.  Thanks for that.  We are looking forward to visiting my youngest son ( he is 28) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  We will fly there this Friday and spend the fourth of July with them. He is with the 82nd Airborne, is a helicopter mechanic, and will be deployed to Afganistan in September.  So we want to get a visit in before he heads out.  We all understand the military way of life.Truthfully, I am most looking forward to seeing the grandkids, Aiden age 3 and Addison age 9 months.  They are a joy. Well take care, my friend.  And keep it going. Great to hear from you, Vance and I bet you  celebrate GRANDPARENTS DAY with just as much love and fun!  Thank you, again, for the tremendous kindness you shared with mE at the last reunion. YOU made it all possible. for me. ///  I recently heard from cLassmate Vikki Chapman ('70) who writes "Hey Dennis , I hopes this finds you doing well. Just wanted to share. My precious Jackson Uhusnabd) and I just returned from a two week cruise to the Baltic. Russia, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, it was a wonderful trip. Saw lots of castles and churches, and loads of art from the Masters. We had this planned for our 40th Anniversary. I would recommend this trip to everybody. We lucked out with gorgeous weather all the way...with the exception of the one night of Fog Horn Serenade with -0- visibility. But, when you only have 3 and a half hours of darkness a night. You miss little. I'm still waiting for my daughter to have the time to load my picture to the computer. Pass on any news you get. Take care." Sounds like a wonderful time, Vikki. Being able to travel at this stage of our lives is a blessing. Have fun!

LOST MUSTANGS RETURN TO THE CORRAL
!

When Mustangs find this web site for the first time or they found us, again, after a long absence, I say that they've returned to the John Jay Alumni Mustang Corral and I list them in this section. If they have a line under the name, then, it's an e-mail link. Just click on the name and write them an e-mail. It's that simple! These are the people we've found or they've found us in the past six months or so. Feel free to contact them, they'd love to hear from you! As I always say, here, "Once, A Mighty Mustang, always a Mighty Mustang!"
