There are places I'll remember, all my life, though some have changed.
Some forever, not for better. Some have gone and some remain.
All these places had their moments, with lovers and friends, I still can recall.
Some are dead and some are living. In my life, I've loved them all.
In my life, I've loved you more.

Kathy Keisor ('72) and I ('70)... a lifetime ago. Were we ever really that young?

Thanks, Steve and give my best to the family for one of the happiest holiday seasons, ever! (12/22/04)

My thanks to Sheila and her family for remembering me this holiday season and for their tremendous support of the web site. Sheila has completed her prerequisites for nursing school and is pretty excited. She starts nursing school at Collin County Community College in Fall 2004. Even though she is in Plano, she is serving on the "Class of 1974" reunion committee. The reunion is set for October 2004. She says she wanted to be sure to send out her love and hugs to everyone this holiday season!   (12/21/03)

GLENN HUTTO ('71) La Porte, Texas, was in town this week end and he, his wife, and I had brunch at Whatburger and talked for two hours our so. It's always a blast to be with the both of them. Glenn MUGGED me! He went to New York City a while back and went to the taping of "Late Night with David Letterman." He brought me back a genuine LATE NIGHT coffee mug. It's exactly like the one that Dave uses on the show. It is beautiful! Glenn also made a donation for the web site as we were saying goodbye to one another in the parking lot. If it hadn't been for Glenn, I wouldn't have passed Doc Stevens' physics class! He was class salutatorian in 1971. Now, did I know who to cheat off of or what!! LOL (12/21/03)

DONNA STEPHENS ('70) Corpus Christi, Texas, always sends me a lovely Christmas card every year. Donna, of course, is the twin sister of MONNA STEPHENS ('70) who lives in Grapevine, Texas. LOL Well, Donna always sends me a donation for the web site with her Christmas card and this year is no exception. She sent in a donation that will really help to keeping the web site going without downloading interruptions! She also sent a long a letter with a family update. Hmmm, KENNY SUNDBERG ('70) lives in Nebraska, too!  Speaking of Nebraska, the University will be playing Michigan State in this year's ALAMO BOWL. Cindy writes... "I'm starting to take courses to get an Computer Associate Certification and Web Master Certification.  That means after I take the two courses and tests I will be a certified Web Master and can get work building web sites.  I'll be able to do all the schooling, testing and then get work on-line from home. I guess I've sat around long enough and I need to do something for myself.  This is something I always wanted to do but my boss always gave the web site jobs to other people. I just wanted to let you know what I've been up to." Thanks for your donation Cindy and for always staying in touch! I love hearing from you and you've always been there for me supporting the web site. You are FANTASTIC and I appreciate all that you do! Have an awesome holiday season! (12/8/03)

AUGUST 2003 DONATION$

BOB WILLIAMS ('69) Houston, Texas sent in a donation, yesterday, and I almost threw it away! I went out and got the mail and there was an envelope for me with company letterhead on it. It looked like some junk mail so, I tossed it into the garbage can as I walked back to my front door. I had done that once before about 20 years ago. I threw an envelope in the garbage that looked like junk mail. Three days later, went I was putting the garbage out to the curb, the envelope blew off the top of the garbage and landed on my sidewalk, I went over, picked it up, and thought, "What the hell, I'll open this now." Well, inside was a check for $100 that I had won from the North Shore Animal Hospital that runs an annual raffle that I had entered!! I had almost thrown away $100. So, to make a long story short, before I walked back in my house, yesterday, that story flashed in my head. I picked the envelope out of the garbage, opened it, and there was a check for the web site from Bob!! Sorry, dude, I almost threw yours away! I am never ever going to throw mail away without opening it ever again! Thanks so much for the donation!! I really, really appreciate it. WHEW!! (8/31/03)

NATHAN WILLIS ('70) San Antonio, Texas showed up at THE GUYS meeting at Pizza Hut, tonight, and as he left for the evening he handed me a check for a web site donation. When I got home, I looked at the check and HOLY STUFFED CRUST PIZZA, BATMAN!! What a super generous donation!! Nathan, thanks so much for the support! You are awesome and always welcome to THE GUYS meetings! I sent him a "thank you" e-mail and he wrote back: "Dennis Your very welcome. I know for many years I've meant to mail a check or drop one by the house but alas, I was too lazy or placed the thought in the back of my head. I enjoyed myself last night and will do it again as soon as I can. Take care and be safe." (8/29/03)

LYDIA "TOY" KELLEY ('71) Minneapolis, Minnesota wrote a  web site donation check back on July 21st. She thought she had mailed it. Around August 23rd, she found the check! DONNA COBURN ('71) Vancouver, Washington. is a lady of her word! Here's she's been out of touch with me for almost two years, she moves from Wisconsin to Washington and the first thing she does is to get back in touch and send in a donation check to keep us going! JULY 2003 DONATION$
Hi, folks... Of 500+ people that I e-mailed, Mustangs that I have never met or even know have responded to my call for financial assistance with this web site. Earlier this year, there were about ten (10) classmates who came through for us. I have never had such an immediate and fantastic response as we've had this month! Thanks to all these wonderful people and those who gave before them, I can carry this through for another year to August 2004, paid in ADVANCE! There's even enough funds to cover the "extra" download units that we incur in the course of a year. You Mustangs are unbelievable! Please keep sending your support. ---Dennis

RENITA FOSTER ('71) Ft. Monmouth, NJ is a full colonel in the U.S. Army and (I'm proud to say) a high school sweetheart of mine!  She sent in a very generous check for the web site, along with a letter and this photo. You may not be able to read the license plate too well, but the plates are from New Jersey but, the frame says LONE STAR STATE. Renita's heart will always be here in Texas and San Antonio in particular. She intends to move back here when her daughter graduates high school in another year. In her letter, she writes... "Dear Dennis, It's been so busy here but, I promised myself to stop and send you a quick note so, you don't think I've forgotten my roots. The new cadets reported in last week for the U.S. Military Academy Preparatory School and who did I run into but, a family from John Jay!! The young man's name is Nick Lopez Ramirez, "Class of 2001". He spent six months in Afghanistan. I'm trying to sponsor him while he's here. His mom is a lovely person and we talked forever about Jay, the neighborhood around Marbach Road, etc. He should be reporting to West Point next summer. Maybe we'll have a John Jay H.S. GENERAL!  Here's a photo of me and a G.I. Jane doll mounted on the front of my car. I've enclosed some funds to help keep the site going. I know everyone appreciates what you do to keep us all informed. I know it's very hard work.  Since casualties from the war have started coming in, I've had to notify five families. That has to be the most heartbreaking duty on earth. To cheer myself up, I come to your web site and read all the news. So, please, keep it up. Take good care of yourself and God Bless You. I hope to see you soon." ---You are so sweet, Colonel! I can't wait to see ya' again. I am glad you like the web site and I'll do my best to keep things going! P.S. Did I ever tell you that I was born in the hospital on the hallowed grounds of West Point? Well, I was! (7/28/03)

- Colonel Renita Foster -
Renita, you are looking great! Thanks so much for the donation to the web site and for your wonderful letter and very kind words. Thank you, also, for continuing to serve our nation in the Armed Forces. We all appreciate that so very very much!

BRENDA GIBBS ('73) Castroville, Texas sent in her donation for the web site and included a very touching note. Let me share what she had to say, "Dear Dennis, I just wanted to drop this off real quick. I know that you will appreciate it. I have to tell you a quick story. Because of YOU and your web site, I have a new friend. One of your 1970 classmates wrote to you and you include that on the web site. The statement that was written touched me deeply. I sent an e-mail to them and we've been chatting ever since. I thank you for introducing me to them. Keep up the superior work." ---Wow! That's great news. You know what they say, "Strangers are just friends we haven't met, yet!" I am happy for you and thank you so, so much for your donation to the web site! (7/25/03)

ALETTA GOODMAN ('79) Genesco, Illinois is so sweet! Not only did she mail in a donation but, she also sent me a new coffee mug! More about the mug further down this page in "Classmate News." MIKE KELLY ('75) Cedar Park, Texas joined the growing list of Mustangs donating funds to keep the web site rocking and rolling along. Mike, thanks so much for taking the time to send in your check. It means a lot and like you said in your note, "Every bit helps!" You got that right, my friend! (7/22/03)

PAM MINNEMAN ('73) Austin, Texas has done it, again! Twice, in one year, Pam has come through for us BIG time! Her generosity knows no bounds! She sent it in a wonderful card that was an absolute delight and wrote, "Dennis, Bless you for all your hard work!!" Well, Pam, God bless YOU for all your generosity and kindness. This is amazing Thank you so, so much! (7/19/03)

SHAWN STURE ('70) Junction City, Oregon sent in a donation, today. It's the first time that we've heard from her in over 33 years. In fact, she graduated from high school in Anchorage, Alaska but, she was one of the ORIGINAL MUSTANGS with us, back in 1967. Like we always say, "Once A Mighty Mustang, Always a Mighty Mustang!" Welcome back, Shawn and thank you for your donation to keep us going!! (7/19/03)

KATHY VICE ('72) San Antonio, Texas sent in a unique donation for the web site. Now, I usually do not mention the amounts of a person's donation. Everyone gives what they can and every dollar helps. Well, Kathy graduated from JJHS in 1972, so, she sent me a money order for $19.72. Is that cool or what! In the note, she writes... "Dennis, Enclosed is my contribution toward the continuation of the web site. I know it is a lot of work to maintain your site and I really do appreciate all the work you do. It's great knowing that if the need arises, I have a place to connect with my former classmates, Thanks, again, your friend." ---Kathy, it's great to hear from you and what a great way to acknowledge your "Class of 1972." It would be wonderful if all the alumni would send in a similar donation the same as their graduation year! Maybe, you've started a trend. Let's hope so. Thanks for the donation and thanks for being the wonderful person you are! (7/18/03)

JON DAVIS ('70) Eugene, Oregon is true to his word and he mailed in his check for the web site, today. Thanks, Jon. Be sure to stay in touch from the great Northwest! (7/16/03)

ROCKY PFEFFER ('71) Dallas, Texas mailed in a check for the web site and I hadn't heard from him for a couple of years. Rocky is in the petroleum business and must run things because he signed the company check! Thanks so much Rocky. I really appreciate you coming through, again. I remember your previous generous donation and this second one means so much! Now, without reaching for my yearbooks, I can't remember what Rocky's real name is. Hmmmm, nope, it doesn't come to mind. I give up. What is your real name, Rocky?? (7/14/03)

GEORGE HUNTER ('70) whose whereabouts is *Classified* somewhere in the Middle East, mailed in a most generous check for this web site and a very eloquent letter that I want to share with everyone... "Dear Dennis, Here you go, Mustang Brother. I sincerely hope this will assist you in the future of your web site. All of us past Mustangs need to realize that you have started a legacy that will be hard to duplicate by anyone, Dennis. So many of us sit back and wait for the next guy to do the work. I can sympathize with your desires to keep this site alive and running. You just write me again when things get rough. I am neither the richest guy around nor am I the poorest, but, my heart is in the right place and so is yours, my friend. I am not the one who will stay in the background and wait for the guy ahead of me to fall. I am going to be the one in the lead and provide for future generations to come. I am going to help you keep this torch burning on for as long as we live and then some, if need be. I have never backed down and, even today, my services are being utilized by our Armed Forces and will continue for as long as they need me. I am not going to stop contributing to the freedom of our nation and out way of life. You, Dennis, are doing your part at home and do it to the best of your ability. I tell you, Stop. Keep up the excellent work with pride. You devote so much to this remarkable project, which you seem to shoulder alone for these many years.... Dennis, I'll get off my "soap box" now, I'm glad to be your friend. Please, keep me in your prayers and hope that I am guiding these young warriors well. Pray that we're kept safe in these volatile times and the dangers we face daily. I ask my fellow Mustangs to do me a favor- the next time you see a man or woman in the military, walk up to them and thank them for keeping the torch of FREEDOM burning brightly. You see, FREEDOM isn't FREE. God bless us all. Keep the fire burning, Dennis. One day we will all come home." --- George, I am speechless.  I don't know what to say. You words blow me away. Thank you for your generosity. Thank you for your friendship. Thank you for your courage, dedication and sacrifices. I hope to see you soon. (7/13/03)

VALORIE GARDNER ('76) San Antonio, Texas honored her pledge to send in a donation for the web site. I received her very generous check in the mail, today. Val has her own successful business called, VP Tax and Bookkeeping Services. If, ya' need her services, give her a call at 210-590-7210. Thanks so much for your generosity, Val. It sure helps out a lot and goes a long way to keeping us going!! You are wonderful!! (7/10/03) I wrote Val a thank you note and she wrote me back today... "Dennis - If, you ever get in a bind again, just let me know.  I cherish my old buddies from high school - Thanks for the plug! Lots of love." (7/11/03)

MISS KRIN BROOKS (former John Jay drama teacher) Austin, Texas mailed me a beautiful birthday card, along with a tremendously generous donation for the web site on behalf of herself and of our late classmate, Paul Crump ('71). Ms. Brooks is the executor of Paul's estate. Portions of her note read... "Dear Dennis, I am enclosing a check from Paul and me to help defray the costs of maintaining your Mustang network. After you had put the notice of Paul's death on your web site, I heard from so many people from John Jay, including SUSAN BREIDENBACH ('71), STEVE FLORES ('70), RICHARD HENDERSON ('70) and most importantly, MOLLY DELANEY ('71). Molly and Paul had remained close friends over the years, and every time that Paul came to San Antonio, he visited her parents. The Delaney's came to Paul's estate sale in Houston, which Molly had given to Paul in the 19070's. What you are doing with the web site is truly important. I hope this check will help for a while. By the way, I loved the "shaved" picture you posted on the site. Did you grow the beard back or are you bare-faced?  Much love." and Molly was visiting in Austin. I was able to return to her a picture of Ella Fitzgerald ---Wow! It's great to hear from you and thank you so much for the birthday card and the very generous donation for the web site, from yourself and Paul's estate. You mention Susan B., well, she's an occasional "guest" at my monthly GUYS meeting and fits right in! I also hear from Steve and Richard, on occasion. I enjoy working on the web site and staying in touch with everyone. Speaking of staying in touch, MS. FINDER has been trying to get in touch with you. Drop her a line. (Just click on her name, it's an automatic e-mail link). Yes, I have grown my beard back. I have more CHINs than a Chinese phonebook! I dunno, having had one for 30 years, I've grown used to it. You've had a positive impact on so many students, including myself, and I want to say, THANK YOU for all the guidance, wisdom, and love that you've given to students over these many years. (7/5/03)

DOUG WHITE ('72) Lahaina, Hawaii sent in the most generous donation in the 7-year history of the web site. I nearly had a stroke when I opened the card. In his note, he wrote, "Dear Dennis, I hope this helps. Your passion and hard work on the web site are much appreciated. God bless you." ---Thank you, Doug. Wish I knew how to say it in Hawaiian! Thank you so very, very much. You are nothing short of amazing, my friend. (I just had to call Doug in Hawaii and thank him personally.) Looks like we're gonna make it after all, thanks to all these wonderful people. (7/3/03)

MICHAEL "MICKEY" MAHLER ('70) Sandy, Utah is such a quiet man and a wonderful friend. Our friendship has grown over the years and he's always been there with a kind word. He writes, "Dennis, I hope things are well with you. I always read your e-mails. Thanks for all you do. Keep up the great work!" Mickey included a donation for the web site and since he's a former BIG LEAGUE baseball player, let me say, his check was a GRAND SLAM OUTTA' DA' PARK HOME RUN! This guy is batting with a 1000 average!! Mick-ster, thanks for the check when we needed it the most! If you ever need anything from me, just ask! (7/3/03)

PETE & GAIL (WALKER) NEWSOME ('74/'74) Wills Point, Texas mailed in a check to keep the web site going. Their lovely card said, "Dennis, thank you so much for the e-mail regarding the cost of your web site. Too often, we come to rely on the hard work of others without thinking of the expense occurring. Thanks so much for all you do to keep our "home connections" together. We know it's a lot of work and we just wanted to tell you how much we appreciate it and you."  ---Dear Gail & Pete, thank you both so very very much for the beautiful card, kind words, and generous donation. Your note really touched my heart and I'm glad you enjoy my web site, so much. You're the best and you're there when we need ya'! Thank you!  (7/2/03)

BARBARA FRIEDMAN ('71) San Antonio, Texas sent in the 1st contribution of the month. Along with her check, she wrote a brief note... "Dennis, hope this helps a bit, it's my pleasure to help out. I have not had a chance to look at the web site, lately, so, the least I could do is help keep it going so I could! I think you are a tremendously generous person to have been doing all this and more for all these years! Rock on! Take care." Barb, your donation helps more than just a bit, it helps A LOT! I really appreciate your generosity. YOU are the tremendously generous person, girl!! Thank you, so much. You take care, too! (7/1/03)

Special Note: "Dennis, Just to let you know, my dad and Mr. Hackett, "pushed" troops out at Lackland AFB in the early and mid '60s together.  I passed this on to my dad, as he and Mr. Hackett were close friends.  As it is right now, my Dad (69 years old) just found out he has cancer and will be receiving treatment at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston.  Hopefully things were found early.  I'll keep you posted, my friend."

"CLASS OF 1974": REUNION INFORMATION

PRISCILLA SANCHEZ sent in this information on reunion plans for the "Class of 1974"....
Hello, everyone!
Thank you to all of our classmates who have sent their correct contact information and suggestions for our 30th reunion.  We have only about 100 good e-mail addresses for our classmates so any help you could offer in locating and contacting others is greatly appreciated.

HELP WANTED:  We are using the contact information to create an alumni directory.  The data entry required is going to be substantial in the beginning.  If anyone can help, please let us know. ----- FOOD AND DRINK:  Sick of eating rubber chicken at every big event you’ve attended?  Then we have the solution.  You don’t have to order the rubber chicken plate.  Every event is “pay-as-you-go.”  The committee has tried to make this reunion reasonable in cost while providing everyone plenty of choices for refreshments.  There will be a cost for a reunion ticket because there are costs being incurred by the committee members to host our reunion. ----- DATE AND LOCATIONS: OCTOBER 8, 2004 - FRIDAY: On Friday night we’ll be hosted at Sam’s Burger Joint on Grayson Street.  This event will be extremely casual.  We’ll have a DJ to play “our” 70s music and any other music we may want.  The room is private and you’ll pay-as-you-go for food and drinks.  In addition to burgers, Sam’s offers salads, nachos and a full bar.  This party is for Jay alumni only. OCTOBER 9, 2004 - SATURDAY: we’ll meet at a restaurant for dinner.  After dinner, we’ll ride trolleys to Club Rive (formerly Planet Hollywood).  Trolleys will operate for most of the evening.  We’ll be able to talk and dance until they close.  The attire is nightclub glitz (but not disco unless you really still fit in your 70s clothes).  Both Saturday events will be pay-as-you-go. We need your help in choosing a restaurant.  Please let us know, especially if one of our classmates owns or manages a restaurant. Most classmates responding did not want to do anything on Sunday so, we’re not having a picnic. Please contact any of us with your ideas, suggestions, questions and contact information. Frances Burns: fadkisson@satx.rr.com , Laura Shupp: stalbach@stic.net , Steve Lipsey: slipsey@indlub.com Cathy Merryman: argentcourt@compuvision.net , Sheila O’Kane: shemchin@yahoo.com , Cye Cunningham: clopez@catto.com Clifton Patrick Jones: cpatrick_jones@yahoo.com , Stephen Jordan: txstamps@aol.com , Holly: ladyech0@yahoo.com, Art Reyna: art@artreyna.com , Priscilla Sanchez: info@moonstruckfiretrucks.com

The next committee meeting is 7:00 pm, Saturday, February 21, 2004 at 5119 Queen Bess Court, San Antonio, Texas. All 1974 classmates are invited. Let us know if you plan to attend so, we can have enough refreshments.

CURRENT CLASSMATE NEWS

BULLETIN: Danny Padron and I have talked it over and we are ready to host another reunion party! It will be held in July 2005. Anyone and everyone can come! It will be a blast. More information in the months ahead!

I WAS MUGGED THREE TIMES, TODAY!
It's never happened before but, today, July 22nd, I was mugged by three people- 2 classmates and 1 friend! I was at work, when a friend that I had not seen in over a year, stopped by my office. He's the former president of the Somerset ISD school board, Lorenzo Devora. He had just gotten back from an Alaskan cruise and brought me a coffee mug with a map of the Alaskan Highway! About an hour later, John Jay H.S. grad  STEVE AYERS ('79), who is the principal of Somerset Elementary School brought me a coffee mug from Disneyland in California. He had just gotten back from vacation! When I got home, there was a package behind the screen door. My whole front porch smelled like movie popcorn! I take the box inside, open it up and it's a gorgeous coffee mug from London, England from another 1979 classmate
ALETTA GOODMAN ('79). I mean, what are the chances that TWO classmates from 1979 mug me on the same day! Aletta had stuffed plastic bags filled with popcorn in the box to cushion the mug. It smelled so good, I ATE ONE OF THE BAGS OF POPCORN!! Aletta, please, tell me that you made the popcorn and did it recently!!! I can't believe I ate it!!!  My thanks to Steve and Aletta for the great coffee mugs! Thanks for thinking of me! (7/22/03)

GLENN BURCHARD ('69) Austin, Texas, sent in an e-mail with great comments about Danny Padron and John Jay... "Dennis, my wife Melba and I drove down from Austin for the Jay football game, last night.  I was looking forward to hearing the strains of "Jalisco," our John Jay "Alma Mater" and all that good stuff--and watching a good buddy try to fulfill one of his lifelong goals.  After watching the game, it's clear we need to really give Danny his due for what he's accomplished!  O'Connor High had never had a winning season, much less qualified for a playoff game or won a district championship.  While, I must admit that my loyalty was tugged in opposite directions, I was very proud of Danny and the Panthers.  As you know, Danny  perservered a long, long time before getting his head coaching shot (I think Ye Olde John Jay High had at least one chance to bring him in).  Now, for him to orchestrate such a quick turn-around is remarkable.  If, you're ever looking for an example of how hard work, perserverence, and sticking to your values wins out in the end--he's your guy.  Here's hoping both teams have great playoff runs." -- I agree with everything you say, Glenn. Very well put. Danny does deserve the accolades for this achievement. (11/8/03)

Every once in a while I'll get an email from one of the oldies and it just makes my day. There is so much sickness and tradegy going on around me that I truly do count my blessings everyday and one thing I am so thankful for are my wonderful friends. Even though I don't keep in contact with you as I should I certainly consider you one of my dear friends. And because of all your hard work I can see what all my OLD Jay buddies are doing. Thanks again. Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Love ya, Mary Lou." --- I can't wait to see ya' sweetie! You have yourself a great holiday season and Merry Christmas! (12/22/03)

LARRY & PATTI (MILWARD) YOUNG ('69/'70)
Lytle, Texas has some great news. I saw this in the newspaper this past week. Their daughter married the sone of Pastor John Hagee of San Antonio. Hagee is the pastor of Cornerstone Church, a non-denominational church, here. He's all over the TV and can be seen on his own program, as well as, the Trinity Broadcasting System out of California. His son, is associate pastor of the church. You may catch them on your local cable system on any of the religious channels. I do not have an e-mail address for Larry and Patti. Sorry. (12/21/03)

DONNA STEPHENS ('70)
Corpus Christi, Texas, sent me a Christmas card and included a letter with family updates and a donation for the web site. Here's a little bit of what she had to say... "Dear Dennis, It's that time of year when company arrives. When they did, the hot water heater went out; the sewer pump quit; the air conditioner/heater computer board burned out; the washing machine began leaking; the lawn mower won't start; and now, but probably not the last, my coffee pot quit!! Back in February, my husband Calvin (in his BIG red boots) collided with my BAREFOOT TOES! The small bone on the outside of my foot 'snapped' like the crunch of new fallen snow on a cold winter's day! Two days later, I had to travel to the panhandle and, of course, it snowed and froze and I couldn't wear a shoe on that foot!... We went to Las Vegas this year and even visited Sea World in San Antonio on a family trip with 13 of us!  We attended our third family reunion back in June in Wentworth, Missouri. My husband's father passed away at age 93.On other trips during the year, we visited New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and California. My sisters Monna and Kristi are doing well and so are my parents. My grandchildren can hardly wait for Christmas. Well, I hope that Santa Claus, Saint Nicholas,  Father Christmas, Kris Kringle, or just the spirit of good will towards everyone, bring you and your family together to celebrate the cherished season of Christmastide! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! --- Donna, thanks so much for the card, the generous donation for the web site, your update on this past year, and being the wonderul person you are! (12/10/03)

That means a lot to me. Be sure to stay in touch! (11/23/03)

DEBRA STUNES ('74) San Antonio, Texas, used to be a neighbor of mine, living just down towards the end of my street a few (or was it many) years ago. But that was the second time we were neighbors. The first time was over 30 years ago back in sunny Italy. It's been a while since I heard from her but, she has some wonderful news for my by e-mail... "Hi Dennis, Just wanted to say hello, and tell you that my oldest daughter, Christina got married on October 11. I think she made a beautiful bride." ---She certainly does make a beautiful bride and your other daughter, Jennifer is gorgeous, too! Our best wishes for her and her husband. Be sure to tell your sister, Paulette, that I said HI. [PAULETTE STUNES ('70) and I went to school together in San Vito / Brindisi, Italy and also at Jay.] (11/3/03)

OCTOBER 2003
RAMIRO & HELEN (RODRIGUEZ) ROCHA ('73/'74) Bellevue, Nebraska sent in an e-mail to me, today. Helen writes... "Hey Dennis, thanks for keeping the flame going.  I have been in contact with  PRISCILLA SANCHEZ ('74) for our 30-year reunion of the "Class of 1974" and she noticed that the e-mail for my husband and I is the old one.  Anyway here it goes, Ramiro ('73) and Helen (Rodriguez) Rocha ('74), 12910 South 29th Place, Bellevue, NE  68123; e-mail is: mrocha7@cox.net  Also, I wanted to let you know that we appreciated the tribute to the soldiers you did earlier in the year, Ramiro and I had to endure the pain when our oldest son, Christopher, U.S. Marine was sent in January 2003.  He was with Task Force Tarawa, he was in the Nasariyah Battle and the Jessica Lynch rescue. It was the worst fighting the soldiers had to overcome.  My son was with the 3rd Bat 2nd Marines and he had some stories to tell.  He made me a promise, that he would bring back every single man in his platoon and he did just that. We had a wonderful reunion in July and we were even interviewed by our ABC affiliate because my husband and I kept our own TORCH burning. We also became grandparents in April, while the war was going on. Our grandchild, Alexandra Maria Rocha met her dad for the first time by satelite telephone from Iraq. Chris used it from a MSNBC reporter in the field.  Neighbors could see our house for miles and miles, with all the yellow ribbons, US Flags, US Marine flag and our everlasting lights. As of this letter our other son, Phillip, is completing his basic training for the Marine Corps and will be assigned as an Intelligence Officer. Something went wrong in our house because we are an AIR FORCE tradition family, go figure!!! Anyway, I have a great idea to help you keep this site going. Would like to set up a scholarship fund for this web site and starting it at our reunion? What do you think Thanks for keeping all of us up to date." --- Helen, it is so wonderful to hear from you and to know that your son, Chris is safe. Both of your sons have our gratitude for the service to our country. Congratulations on becoming a grandma! That is fantastic. Keep me posted on the "Class of 1974" reunion plans and I will post them here. As for starting a scholarship fund at your upcoming reunion, well, there is already a scholarship fund sponsored by alumni that benefits college bound Mustangs. For more information, you can contact Lydia Hollingsworth-Mrzlak ('78) at lmrzlak@satx.rr.com. If you're saying you'd take up a collection at the reunion to keep the web site going, well, that would be cool. I wouldn't want anyone to feel pressured but, whatever is done, it's appreciated. (10/21/03)

MARGUERITE VERBOIS ('79)
[not sure where she is] sent me an e-mail. I don't believe that I have ever met her but, I do know her sister MIMI VERBOIS ('69) and her brother DAVID VERBOIS ('71). David brought me a coffee mug from Paris, France, earlier this year. Margie's e-mail says, "Dear Dennis, my sister Mary Kathryn Verbois "Class of '69", otherwise known to her classmates as "Mimi" told me about your web site.  Maybe you know about an upcoming 25 reunion for the "Class of '79"?  If so, please let me know how I can find out more. Thank you ."  ---At this point I don't have any information on a reunion for '79. I am adding you to my web site mailing list and my e-mail files. If anyone has info for a reunion, please pass it on to her. (10/18/03)

ALETTA GOODMAN ('79)
San Antonio, Texas, sent in an e-mail today,
"Hello Dennis, I hope all is well with you!!!! My husband, who works for the Department of Defense, had been transferred to Illinois. As Western Illinois did not have the teacher certification/Master's in Special Ed program I needed, he let me and our daughter (9 years old) come back and live with my sister, Mischelle, to finish it up in Texas. So, I am back in S.A. and teaching 3rd grade for now. I was looking over your website and noticed my sister, MISCHELLE GOODMAN ('76) has had an e-mail change. Could you please update it for me? She can be contacted at: imchurchlady@hotmail.com The Goodman girls weren't the most popular group of young ladies, but Praise God, we're all still out here and kicking. Thanks for all you hard work and dedication!!! You are in my thoughts and prayers. P.S. when I do finally graduate with the Master's, I am going to celebrate by going back to Holland, adding Belgium, I hope. I won't forget the coffee mugs, from wherever I get to go!" --- Good to hear from you and thanks for keeping me in mind! (10/18/03)

KATHY KEISOR ('72)
Anchorage, Alaska is a GRANDMA ('Nana)! My very first John Jay girlfriend is now a grandmother! Her daughter, Amy had her baby this past Thursday, October 16th. Amy and her husband, Dan, are so happy and of course, Kathy's husband Jay is happy as can be about being a Grandfather. Well, let me let Kathy tell you all about it in her e-mail... "Dear Dennis,
GRACE KATHLEEN MARTIN arrived yesterday (Oct. 16) just before noon. She weighed 8 lb. 4 oz. and is 19 3/4 inches long. Amy was incredible. She was scheduled to be induced but actually woke up in labor yesterday morning. They started inducement drugs shortly after she arrived, and within 2 hours she dilated from 3 to 10 centimeters and was ready to deliver. The doctor told her the pushing could take 1 to 3 hours, but she pushed for about 15 minutes and the baby was here. Shortly before she was fully dilated, Amy had an epidural and was actually quite comfortable during the hard part. Jay and I were in the delivery room, and were more than awed by the sight of our daughter delivering her baby. It was breathtaking. It was also very moving to see how supportive and loving Dan was with Amy. He got to cut the cord. My grandchild, Grace is beautiful... she has a tiny bit of light brown/dark blonde hair just like Dan's, perfect little lips, nose and ears, and very long toes and fingers just like her mom. By the way, Amy and Dan had not settled on a name before the baby was taken to the nursery. After several anxious hours of waiting to go see her (while she was treated, tested, etc.), Amy and Dan were finally told they could visit the nursery. Jay and I left with Dan's mom and aunt (who are visiting from Seattle) to have dinner, and when we returned they told us what they named her. We all loved it... and I was especially moved when I heard her middle name. One at a time, we each got to visit with Grace for a few minutes before we left for the night. She is so sweet." ---Well, Kath, I can hear the joy in your voice and I am so happy for you. How excited you must be to have the baby's middle name named after you! All my love and best wishes to the family. (10/17/03)

BILL & SANDY (BETZ) CUTSHALL ('70 &'75)
Elgin, Texas has found us after 33+ years and send in an e-mail... "Dennis, indeed it has been a long time since we talked last, 33 years, 4 months and a few days.  When I left school after graduation I did not ever expect to see any of ya'll again.  I took off to school and saw a few people the first year, but after that I was out doing my thing and I did not look back.  I married SANDRA BETZ a '75 Mustang graduate.  Been together 28+ great years.  We have 4 children, Brandon 23 is in the U.S.Marine Corps, Joshua 19 is at St. Edward's University in Austin, Stephanie 17 is a Senior at Elgin High School and Courtney 16 is a Junior.  We are all doing well in most respects, doing the parent things and busy putting bread on the table.  I heard from JEANNE DICKSON ('70) and of course from you and it was quite surprising.  I have been reading the Mustang website and you have done a spectacular job of putting it together and keeping it maintained.  There are so many names that I remember but so few faces, which is why I jumped into the site after I had found it.  It is incredible and I love reading all the info and seeing all the photos of the "matured " class" members of '69-'71.  I was totally shocked at how many of us live so close to each other in the central Texas area.  I signed in your book and will be glad to hear from anyone.  Please don't fret if my response is slow but it will happen.  God Bless and keep the torch lit." --- Bill, it's great to have you back with us! Hope you'll join us for the reunion in July 2005! (10/9/03 John Lennon's 63rd Birthday)

KAREN WALLS ('77) San Antonio, Texas, sent in this e-mail, today... "Dennis-- Thanks for keeping Mustang fever alive and well. There is something about John Jay that stays in your blood forever. I read your comments and some of the comments from other folks about the renovations to Jay. I hate them! They are ugly! My sister, Joy (Walls) Goff, Class of '81, felt so strongly about it that she became a member of the current district bond committee. I think they are regretting letting her in, because she is very vocal that if a bond passes, there better not being any more mistakes like the ones made at Jay! Any way, if any other Mustangs would like to give her feedback on the bond issue, they can email her at leopardwoman40@hotmail.com. As for the famous folks, I really liked the comment about how many of our alumni may not have our names in the news, but we are all still mighty important and famous people in our own right. After all, we ARE the Mighty Mustangs! Keep the flame lit and alive!" (10/8/03)

KEVIN PETERSON ('72) San Antonio, Texas, sent in an interesting question to me by e-mail..."Dennis, Just a quick question.  Is there anyone from John Jay High School who has "made it" to the big time?  I mean someone who, if Joe or Jane Average heard their name, they would be known or at least recognized? The subject came up last night in a talk among friends who attended high school in Miami. They had a few, but I could not name one from Jay. Even my wife had at least one....Emmy Lou Harris went to her high school in Virginia." ---Kevin, the only people that come to mind are MICKEY MAHLER ('70) and his brother RICKY MAHLER ('71). They are were pretty famous pro baseball players in their time. Classmate BILLY SMITH ('71) played in the World Series for the Baltimore Orioles. Jay had a famour football player for the New York Giants, but I forget his name. Of course, there's ME, having been the sidekick for CAPTAIN GUS! LOL (10/5/03)

UPDATE ON ABOVE ITEM: Holy cow! I'll never ask another e-mail question of 500+ classmates, again! What a response. Here's a list of replies on "What John Jay students have become famous?" Several people sent in the same information but, everyone deserves credit. So, here we go! They are listed in no particular order and exactly as they were submitted to me.

MICKEY MAHLER ('70):
"Dennis, I'm flattered!! Jerry Poston ('71) is like a BILLIONAIRE! He sold his company to someone for a few hundred million $$$.
"

MARK LOISELLE ('70): "Dennis, Billy Taylor played fullback for the New York football Giants! Not sure what year he graduated. Thomas Lott played briefly for the St. Louis football Cardinals after being a wishbone QB @ OU. Not sure when he graduated, either. I see that Mickey says that Jerry Poston has made it big. Now maybe he and Rick Mahler can pay Warren Whitaker and I the $3.00 they owe us from three 2-on-2 basketball games that they lost to us in 1970, at one of the Lackland gyms! I wonder what the interest would be on $3.00 for 33 years? LOL".

MICHELLE SMITH ('70): "A football player named Lott?" [Dennis' note: I love it! Short and sweet, Michelle!]

GEORGE HUNTER ('70): "Dennis, In response to questions... Let us not forget all of our fallen heros from Jay and current Jay grads who have spent their lives in carrying the torch for the defense of our "Freedom", our way of life, our children's way on life by being in the military, and spent time in the military. To me, these are also persons "who made it to the bigtime" thanks buddy, just a knee-jerk response." [Dennis' note: Everyone should remember that just a couple of months ago, I did a BIG tribute, on this web site, to classmates who served and are serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. They have not been overlooked by any means. This is just a simple question about "fame."]

BOB WILLIAMS ('69): "The NY Giants player was Billy Taylor, Bobby Kearney played for the Oakland Athletics, how about Bo Outlaw. You know its kinda sad when we only look at people who are "news" famous, what about the many teachers, policemen, firefighters, pastors, members of the armed forces, and just the plain old people who work in the community who never get recognized. Another one, Thomas Lott played for Oklahoma. He's the one who was interviewed on national TV about why he wore a bandana, his reply, "For pub".

NATHAN WILLIS ('70):
"Dennis, I think Ronnie Lott, who played with the SF 49er's, played at Jay in the mid 70's.

ROBERT "BOB" DUPRIEST ('75): "Den, Billy Taylor went on from Jay to Texas Tech, and played for the New York Giants, NY Jets and the Raiders, finishing in the USFL. He is a sportscaster in NY/NJ. An article about him appeared in this sunday's sports page (P2). Derrick Hatchett went to UT, then the Colts, and ended his carrer with the Raiders. One of the Hagy boys went from UT to Buffalo."

MERRY FIELD ('75): "Thomas Lott, Class of '75 - football player. Billy Taylor - the BT Express - Class of '74, was also pro football player."

THERESA DOUVRY ('78): "Billy Tayor, Thomas Lott. It was in the paper this past Sunday 74 grads I think."

VALORIE GARDNER ('76): "
Hey Dennis - the football player was Billy Taylor - the last I heard he was still in New York, had played for both the Jets and the Giants and had a talk show there - I don't know if he is still on the air or not.
"

CAROLE WALLS ('77): "Hi Dennis-- Lamont Jefferson's brother (I don't recall his first name) is a Texas Supreme Court justice. Lamont was in the class of '77, and his brother is younger than him. Ann Hollingsworth is an Air Force pilot, and she was the stunt pilot for Meg Ryan in some movie about airplanes. These are the only "famous" folks I can think of."

TINA LOPEZ ('76): "Dennis, Here are a few names: Billy Taylor ('74)-NFL, Thomas Lott ('75)-NFL, Derrick Hatchett ('76)-NFL, Sammy Morris-NFL(currently), Bo Outlaw ('89)-NBA(currently with Phoenix Suns), Clarissa Davis-Wrightsell (COO- San Antonio Silver Stars, USA Olympic Basketball Team, former professional player). There are more in other areas, I'm sure."

DAVID HINEBAUGH ('77): "What about Wallace Jefferson, '81. He is the first black Supreme Court Judge in Texas."

GREG WRIGHT ('77): "
Depends on what people think is famous. Wally Jefferson is a  Texas Supreme Court Judge (Class of 80 something). FYI Billy Taylor (Class of 1973) played for the NY Giants along with Thomas Lott who had 3 successful years at University of Oklahoma (starting QB with national championship team) If memory serves me, there was a basketball player in the mid 80's that went on to play several years in the NBA."

LYDIA HOLLINGSWORTH ('78):
"Dennis, sports comes to mind when I think of Jay graduates who made it to the "big time." Billy Taylor--Class of 74 Professional Football player; Clarissa Davis--Class of 81 (I think) WNBA super star and now CEO of the San Antonio Silver Stars.' "Bo" Outlaw--Class of '86 (I think) played professional basketball for the Orlando Magic and now plays for Phoenix; Wallace Jefferson--Class or '80 or '81 Texas Supreme Court Justice. That's all I can think of right now. As far as a Jay graduate making it "big" time in music, T.V. or movies, I don't know of one."

CATHERINE MORGANTE ('77): "How about Rick Ojeda '76, the rogue FBI agent associated with the OK City bombing featured on "20/20" or was it "48 Hours".

PRISCILLA  SANCHEZ ('74): "Thomas Lott, Class of '74, professional football player, I believe he played for the San Francisco '49ers. Arthur C. Reyna, Jr., Class of 1974, Texas State Representative (6 years). Those are the only ones I know."

REUBEN TREJO ('77): "Dennis, Don't forget Clarrisa Davis. Won the College Women's National Championship for UT in her freshman year. Derrick Hatchett played in the NFL. Bo Outlaw plays in the NBA. That's just a few for now."

CALVAN ALLEN ('77): "I believe the answer of the football player you mentioned is Billy Taylor '74, and you might also add Thomas Lott '75, though I do not remember what NFL team he played for."

XAVIER MARTINEZ ('81):
"Billy Taylor (read Sunday's Express-News sports section/"where are they now")...Jay, Texas Tech, NY Giants, Jets, Raiders, and USFL. Thomas Lott (Oklahoma, and a little time with the old St Louis Cardinals) Derrick Hatchett (UT, Baltimore Colts), Mike Hatchett (UT, Chicago Bears), Scott Ankrom (TCU, Dallas Cowboys)
Sammy Morris (Texas Tech, now with the Buffalo Bills) and Wallace Jefferson (Class of '81, currently sits on the Texas State Supreme court...first African-American to sit on the Court). I am only naming a few."

MINDY FROSTO ('81): "Hi Dennis, I will answer the question by posting the info below: our classmate that did live up to his prediction of "Most Likely to Succeed" from our year group JJHS 1981. "Wallace Jefferson made Texas history in 2001 as the first African American ever to serve as a Justice on the Supreme Court of Texas. Governor Rick Perry appointed Justice Jefferson to the Court to fill the vacancy created when Justice Al Gonzales left the Court to serve as White House Counsel to President George W. Bush. Justice Jefferson is the son of William and Joyce Jefferson of San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from John Jay High School in 1981 and received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Philosophy from Michigan State University in 1985. He earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1988 from the University of Texas School of Law."

GAIL WALKER ('74): "Dennis, The football player was Billy Taylor ('74).  He played for Texas Tech, then, he went to the pros in New York."

ART JOHNSON ('74): "Dennis, Thomas Lott and Billy Taylor, both (74) played pro ball for a short time.  I think Thomas with the Cardinals, and Taylor with Giants.  Not living in Texas, now. I am not sure but seems like another '74 alum is a state rep in Texas."

JAMES BROWN ('74): "
Dennis, as you mentioned, Billy Taylor ('74) played football for the New York Giants.  Never did much of anything, but he was on the team...I know what Kevin means in his note. My wife went to high school with Crystal Bernard in Spring, Texas."

KAREN COPAS ('77): "Dennis, also, the black football player that played for the S.F. forty -niners. I can't remember his name Derrick or something like that. I followed his career when we were living in the bay area from '88-'94. I believe he graduated in '75. When he graduated his picture was in the parade magazine for something like all-star H.S. player."

JULIAN MACIAS ('89): "Dennis: Billy Taylor played for the Ny Giants for four years. In the sports section in yesterdays Express News (Sunday) paper, there is an article "Where are they now," (pg 2) that talks about this former Jay graduate. Also Sammy Morris plays or played for the Buffalo Bills, very recently. There is an article on his story in the local San Antonio Christian Beacon newspaper for September. This free paper is located at most Little Caesars and Chick-Fil-A locations. If you would like a back-issue of this paper with Sammy's article, let me know."

MIKE KELLY ('75): "Billy Taylor ('74) played football at Tech and then, went on to the NFL (Giants or Jets, Raiders?) Thomas Lott ('75) played football at OU and then played in the CFL. Bob Kearney ('73 or '74?) played professional baseball with the SF Giants I think. Scott Ankrom (?) played with the Cowboys. I'm sure we had a lot more but it's hard to think of this stuff on short notice. And just for trivia purposes, Thomas Lott's son, Thomas Lott III, is a running back at Rice University."

RAY WHITWORTH ('73): "Well, gee Dennis, I would like to think after producing and being a "fill in host" for the Legendary Bill Mack ( radio personality, author of "Blue" for Lee Ann Rimes" and "Drinking Champagne"for George Strait) on the ABC radio network, that I made it for awhile. I also taught scriptwriting to Louis Abernathy at North Texas State( Now UNT), and he was my writng partner on some commercials. He was an actor and a "Unit Director" on the Movie "Titanic" and I taught Thomas Kasada on writing and using the voice . You may know him better as Thomas Hayden Church- "Lowell" on "Wings" and "Ned' of Ned and Stacy" and a few movies. Speaking of I had minor ones in "Born on the Fourth of July", "JFK", but my big role was in 1974 at the Hays county fairgrounds for the filming of "The "Great Waldo Pepper" I had a scene with Robert Redford when Bo Svenson's plane crashes and catches on fire due to a cigarette" ( a close up reveals my hand..LOL! tossing it) and Mr. Redford rushes to the plane ( along with the crowd) and pushes this "doofus" out of the way > ME. In reality I tripped over a rock and when the director yelled cut. Mr. Redford extended his hand and asked " are you alright son?" I got paid a wopping $125.00 for that day. I have it framed.( a copy of the check of course).  Oh well..fame is fleeting at times."

JULIE CONSANI ('71) Santa Rosa, California, sent me an e-mail along with some photos, that I want to share with everyone... "Thanks, Dennis for all the e-mail updates you send our way. You are the best! I just thought I would let you know Ben, my brother Ron and I went to a concert, yesterday, at a winery owned by BR Cohen. He is the Doobie Brothers manager, and has been for 30 some years.Every year they do a benefit at the winery and all kinds of "Old" bands show up. This time it was The Turtles (who were fabulous, makes one feel old when you find yourself singing at the top of your lungs to every dang song), Joe Satriani, Norton Buffalo and surprise guest Jackson Browne. Wow, what a show. We had to leave early and get to another show, Steele Dan was playing about an hour and half drive away and we were given tickets so had to go. What a day, I tell you ! But I know you love the music and thought you might know I thought of you yesterday.I am sending a picture of (left to right) Ron (my brother), Ben (my husband) and me! And then another photo of me at a Chicago concert. (The group not the city)" --- Thanks for the e-mail, the photos, and for always staying in touch, girl! (10/5/03)

SEPTEMBER 2003
LINDA DUPRIEST ('71) San Antonio, Texas decided to emulate her brother (after 16 years) and now has started a little girls group of her own. Linda lives about two miles from my house and we see each other maybe three time a year. She's busy being the mom of a high school cheerleader and I'm busy with uhh, I'm busy uhh, I sleep a lot. Anyway, She sent me this e-mail... "Dennis, 15 gals from the "Class of 1971" celebrated our 50th birthdays together on September 20th. We enjoyed a lovely dinner at the Barn Door, recalling old memories, life experiences and great friendships. Here are some statistics among the 15 of us: 26 marriages, 24 children, 16 grandchildren, 25 prescription drugs, 3 cosmetic surgeries and 5 of the gals lost their virginity while still going to John Jay High School. Only I know who they are! The name of our new Jay girl group is the "Wild 'Tangs!" We are looking forward to our next "girls night out" in January 2004." ---Thanks for the e-mail, Sis and thanks for the photos that I am posting below. It sure would be nice to know who the hell is who in these pictures!! You didn't send me their names. Also, I think I'll take a guess as to who had the BOOB JOBS! By the way, I think that the name of your new group is a great tribute to the astronauts of the 1960s! WOW! Name yourselves after a powdered orange breakfast drink that the astronauts drank in outer space! That is so cool! Is there any chance THE GUYS and the WILD 'TANGS could have a sleep-over pajama party?? Just wondering! We could have it at my house. Lemme know! (9/27/03) UPDATE: On 9/30/03, my sister Linda saw this page and what I wrote about having a sleep over with THE GUYS and THE 'TANGS.". She writes to me and says, "and by the way... Wild 'Tangs is short for Wild Mustangs! Ha!! But I know you already knew!! We might just have to discuss a PJ party with the Guys sometime. But won't The Guys have a hard time staying up??? I mean awake???

OK, lemme see who these ladies are until Linda sees this web page and jumps my butt for not getting the names right...
Starting on the left- BARBARA FREIDMAN, (white blouse) second girl is KATHY PEREZ. The third is CHRIS SCHLAEGER,
then there's DEBBIE DeBERGH, (can't see her), the fifth is KIM WYATT, Number 6 is also hidden- GAIL GOODPASTER. Then,
BEVERLY BRIGHAM is right next to my sister LINDA DUPRIEST, in the middle. She's the one that... well, never mind.
Now,  the right side of the table, closest to the camera... LAURA HENDERSON, next, SARAH ESCOBEDO, then, the top
of SUE CLEMONS' head, then, LINDA SCHNEIDER, KAY COMPTON, PAULA SCOFIELD and SHIRLEY HARDEN.

Geez, why doesn't anyone line up in straight lines, anymore, to make is easier to name everyone! Sheesh!
Back row: SARAH ESCOBEDO, SUE CLEMONS, LINDA DUPRIEST, LINSA SCHNEIDER, CHRIS SCHLAEGER.
Middle: SHIRLEY HARDEN, PAULA SCOFIELD, BEVERLY BRINGHAM, DEBBIE DeBERGH, KAY COMPTON, GAIL GOODPASTER.
Front row: KATHY PEREZ, LAURA HENDERSON, BARBARA FREIDMAN, and KIM WYATT.

This is a little easier. I will fill in all the "I dunno" names when Linda tell me who they are.
Back row: LINDA SCHNEIDER, KAY COMPTON, LINDA DUPRIEST, and  BEVERLY BRIGHAM.
Seated: SUE CLEMONS and SARAH ESCOBEDO. My sister tells me that Beverly's husband is a
plastic surgeon and boy are they all gonna hook up for his services!!

PHYLLIS FORTENBERRY ('70) Houston, Texas heard from her husband Russell Griffith and wrote me an e-mail today... "Hi Dennis, I just wanted you to know that I got DENISE WAGNER's ('70) phone number from you sending it to Russell and I will be calling her in the next couple of days. I guess you know Russell has been travelling back and forth to Indonesia, the past few months.  He usually is over there for 2-3 weeks at a time and then back home again for a bit.  He is due back on Oct. 4 from this trip.  Everytime he goes, I usually head to Atlanta for a while.  Two of my thr
