Our thanks to 1971 Classmate STEVE KOLARS for putting this project together. We still have a few pages to go, but we're getting there!

JOHN HOLSTON ('71) Lake Fork, Texas, has an interesting story about the 1970-71 yearbooks that we just posted...""Dennis, Thanks for the heads up on the class of '71 yearbook progress. It made me laugh and cry. Time is surely having its way with us. On Page 7 there is a picture of me and Lane Herchberger, with a flag that we took to John Marshall H.S.. Mike Price shimmied up their flag pole only to find out that their Varsity football team was having a meeting and they dismissed while he was up at the top and he silently stayed there until they all left. He was never able to hang the flag but in the process of sliding down the flag pole in a hurry, almost castrated himself and ripped the crotch out of his pants, on the hooks you wrap the flag chains around. Rodney Marshall was with us also. That story is the gospel truth, I wish others knew about the story behind the picture. I'm still very close friends with Lane Herchberger who, lives with his family in Arlington, Tx. I'm going to call Lane up and tell hime to look it up. I think we were also in quest of the famous "Donkey Lady" but we generally reserved those trip to take some girls with us. I just had to share that with you. You take care of yourself, so you'll be ready for the summer reunion. God Bless." ---Thanks for the story John, it's a great one! I hope to see you at the SHINDIG VI reunion in July. (1/22/07)
